a horologist, when the title infers, works primarily in watches, non clocks. the few horologer act in clocks, however a skills & informatiin required to act on a follow aren't universally applicable while working in the clock.

Watchmaker as metaphor
William Paley used the follow & horologist inside his famous analogy to infer for the existence of God. Richard Dawkins later applied this analogy in his book The Blind Watchmaker, arguing that evolution, the source of origins, is unsighted in this it just can't look send on.
